Its almost a whole DIY control software package that you can get for free. Plus, its software that enables you to operate not only plastic 3D printers but also resin printers, CNC cutters, and laser equipment. In Marlin it will do that with this setting, but Klipper will come to a stop/slow right down at the seam, then start moving again to move over the Outer Wall Wipe Distance, which pretty much negates the positive effect of that setting. Kiri Moto is a 3D printing slicer that runs in a browser and can be used on any operating system. the Outer Wall Wipe Distance in Cura) which blurs the seam over that 5mm distance. If you want to print fast, you should give Klipper a try. To eliminate a Z seam, you kinda need to coast past the end of the extrusion (i.e. On Klipper it speeds up a lot prints for example, Benchy on Super Slicer is 54min whereas Cura is 1hr 24min, these are exact same speeds no acceleration control and minimum layer times are set to 1 second on both. The difference is that Klipper will slow down and either stop, or almost stop, at the start/end of an extrusion path. It completely eliminated any Z seam in any print on Marlin, but it only marginally improves it on Klipper. I set mine to 5mm which is big, but worked exceptionally well on Marlin. You can use Outer Wall Wipe Distance in Cura with Klipper - the incompatibility was fixed quite a while back. It's quite widely reported, but no post has a good solution. I've been trying for around a year to fix this very issue with Klipper, and had very little success.
